Aaron Gordon Reveals Why He Chose 50 As His New Jersey Number
As Aaron Gordon embarks on a new chapter in his career, he has decided to mix things up, by donning a new jersey number: 50.
While it might seem insignificant at first, the change does have some meaning behind it, as the young stud revealed to Altitude TV’s Katy Winge…
When you see Aaron Gordon wearing number 50 tonight for the Nuggets, here’s why:
1. He wanted a fresh start coming to Denver and joining the Nuggets
2. He chose 50 because of his dunk contest scores, and the fact that he didn’t win. He has a documentary called “Mr. 50” pic.twitter.com/lWz202YZK4

In case you’re not in the loop, Gordon has become somewhat famous for his performance in the 2016 and 2020 dunk contests. He, amazingly, scored nearly perfect in both competitions (getting several 50s), but ended up losing both.
His career has been somewhat headlined by those events, and it’s not something he has been quick to let the world forget, even going so far as to make a documentary titled “Mr. 50” to tell his story.
He already said he won’t be playing in another dunk contest, so it seems like a redemption story will never come for Gordon. Still, he is set up to experience some enormous success with his news team, the Denver Nuggets.
