Breaking: LaMarcus Aldridge And The San Antonio Spurs Will Part Ways
LaMarcus Aldridge is a former All-Star who has a lot of respect around the NBA. He is a solid big man who can space the floor and would be a solid pickup for any team in the NBA. Despite him being an amazing veteran, he currently does not fit the needs of the San Antonio Spurs, who are developing their younger talent.
LaMarcus Aldridge has been rumored to be in trade negotiations before, but recently Shams Charania has confirmed that LaMarcus Aldridge and the Spurs will “part ways”.
Spurs and LaMarcus Aldridge have mutually agreed to part ways and are working on resolution, coach Gregg Popovich says.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Spurs are confident of a trade happening and that there is no progress towards a buyout of his contract.
There’s a level of confidence that a trade partner will be found for Aldridge — perhaps even in the next week — and no movement toward a contract buyout, sources tell ESPN.

LaMarcus Aldridge will likely want to go to a contender who needs a big man, and there are a few around the league that fit the bill. While he is no longer an All-Star caliber player, he can play a leadership role, and perhaps be a minor scoring option inside.
While there is no concrete trade that has been confirmed, it seems that the separation will happen sooner rather than later. It could be to the benefit of both sides to part ways with one another, and LaMarcus Aldridge can definitely contribute elsewhere.
