Huawei EMUI March 2021 security patch details released

Since September 2020, Huawei has been testing its devices for the latest Android-based custom OS skin, EMUI 11. As of now, almost EMUI 11 eligible devices received the stable EMUI 11 version in China.

On the other hand, the company has also expanded the latest custom OS beta testing in the global market. Currently, the flagship smartphones received the stable EMUI 11 meanwhile other compatible devices are still underway to beta the program.

According to the official EMUI 11 rollout schedule, the company will complete the EMUI 11 beta testing globally somewhere in April 2021. The EMUI 11 features a new artistic always-on display (AOD), super notepad, multiwindow-multitasking, and much more.

Aside from this, at HDC 2020, Huawei also revealed the HarmonyOS 2.0 version of HarmonyOS AKA Hongmeng OS. Moving on, the company has released the HarmonyOS 2.0 developer beta testing and simultaneously started the HarmonyOS beta for Huawei P40, Mate 30, and MatePad Pro devices.

In the coming future, Huawei plans to shift its all devices including existing ones to its self-developed OS, HarmonyOS. Additionally, it will install HarmonyOS on over 300 million units including smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, and more.

Apart from this, Huawei regularly released new software updates for many smartphones and tablets. These updates come in monthly and quarterly timespan and bring security patches for security improvements. Talking of security, the company has released the March 2021 security patch details that will be rolled out for Huawei models.

The security updates for Huawei devices include CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposure) announced in the March 2021 Android security bulletin.

The March 2021 security patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 2 critical, 13 high, and 132 medium levels of CVEs. Check more information below.
