Huawei P30 and P30 Pro on EMUI 11 started receiving latest improvements with February 2021 security update

Huawei P30 lineup is Huawei’s previous-generation flagship, which was launched in the year 2019 with Android-based EMUI 9.0 and upgradable up to Andriod 10. Further, this device gets EMUI 10 and 10.1 major updates.

Now, Huawei has started releasing a new software update for P30 smartphones. This update mainly brings the February 2021 security patch, which fixes different levels of exploits and issues for improved system security. However, the update is currently released for Chinese consumers and will be available for the global models soon.

About Huawei P30 series EMUI 11 update:

At HDC 2020, Huawei has released the latest custom OS, EMUI 11 build on Android 10. So, the P30 series is eligible to install this major update. The EMUI 11 feature offers artistic always-on display, AI subtitles, super notepad, and more.

After the launch of EMUI 11, the company enrolled and completed the beta testing for the batch of devices that includes the new-generation flagship. Afterward, in the second bunch, the previous-gen phones incorporating P30 devices are recruited to test the EMUI 11 features ahead of stable rollout.

Succeeding the EMUI 11 beta activity, in December 2020, the company has concluded the beta program for the Huawei P30 lineup by sending the stable EMUI 11 version. Apart from home ground, this major update is also expanding in the global markets.

February 2021 Security Patch Details: This February 2021 security patch fixes different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei smartphones including 2 critical, 26 high, and 77 medium levels of CVEs.

CHECK FOR UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

• Open Settings
• Click on the System & updates
• Open Software update
• Tap on Check for updates option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

• Open the Support app on your device
• Go to the Service tab
• Click on the update button
• Tap on Check for update option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device
