“If LeBron James Wins The Title This Year, It’s Not Even Debatable Who’s The GOAT,” Says Shannon Sharpe

Since the dawn of his NBA career, LeBron James has been chasing the shadow of Michael Jeffrey Jordan.

Hailed as “the Chosen One” out of High School, and donning no. 23, James sent a message from the very start that he was after greatness.

Over 17 years later, and the Lakers superstar is getting close to achieving his mission — and some say he already has. Still, with four NBA Championships to his name, winning one more could be the final piece of evidence needed to officially crown Bron as the GOAT, especially if it comes against the Brooklyn Nets superteam.

According to Shannon Sharpe, it wouldn’t even be a debate anymore.

Even if you’re a lifelong LeBron hater, you have to recognize the enormity of obstacles facing him and his Lakers this season, At 36-years-old, in his 18th season, it’s up to him to lead the Lakers through the bitter and fierce Western Conference — filled with rivals like the Clippers, Blazers, Suns, and Jazz.

In the Finals, he’d likely have to face the Brooklyn Nets, who have 41 combined All-Star appearances on their roster.

No doubt, if LeBron James pulls this off, and leads the franchise to an NBA-record 18th Championship, that would do pretty well for his GOAT case.

Something tells me, however, that it won’t stop the debates from happening…
