NBA Rumors: The Best Buyout Candidates That Could Be Available Shortly

A lot of fans might think that the trade deadline meant the end for transactions in the NBA and nothing can be farther away from reality. Now we’re entering a new market that will give teams plenty of opportunities to improve their roster, especially this season with all the good names that could be looking for a new organization in the next couple of days.

The buyout market has helped things find the right piece they need to win a championship and all the contenders hope to do the same this campaign. We have already seen players getting bought out so they can sign a new deal elsewhere and this weekend, we could see more and more assets leaving their teams after landing in new teams during the trade deadline. Not everybody likes where they were sent on Thursday and some teams could be parting with these players, that haven’t even played a single minute with them.

Yossi Gozlan of HoopsHype named the 15 best buyout candidates for NBA teams. Some have already gotten bought out and others are expected to have the same fate. Here, we’ll present you this interesting list, breaking down the best candidates per position.

  • Point Guards: Avery Bradley, Cory Joseph, Austin Rivers, Jeff Teague
  • Shooting Guards: Dante Exum, Rodney Hood, Rodney McGruder
  • Small Forwards: Otto Porter, Ben McLemore, Jabari Parker
  • Power Forwards: LaMarcus Aldridge, Moe Harkless
  • Centers: Andre Drummond, Hassan Whiteside, Gorgui Dieng

There are some very interesting names there that could make a big impact on any team that signs them. Of course, Andre Drummond and LaMarcus Aldridge are the best players on the list but other valuable assets can bring that extra to any team.

Otto Porter could be a steal in the buyout market, Avery Bradley has been part of winning teams, Austin Rivers is a very reliable veteran coming off the bench. Moe Harkless can get a lot of attention, as well as Gorgui Dieng and Ben McLemore. These are players that can do a lot for the right team, especially now that the postseason is closer.
