NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics Are The “Frontrunners” For Aaron Gordon
The Boston Celtics have performed way under expectations so far this season, going just 21-22 through the first 43 games.
Despite the best efforts from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the team has been unable to find consistency, calling into question their place among the Eastern Conference contenders.
Still, they haven’t given up hope yet and, as things stand, they are expected to be one of the most active teams on the trade market this week. According to league insider Alan Moore, they’re the frontrunners for Magic forward Aaron Gordon.

“Boston, multiple sources confirmed, has offered two first-round picks. No other teams on the board have yet to reach that offer level. It’s not known yet what types of protections are attached to those talks but there is an assumption there will be some, if not significant, protections on the first-rounders,” Moore wrote.
“Additionally, the framework involves Evan Fournier going to Boston, with the Celtics sending a player, the two picks, and using their Traded Player Exception from the Gordon Hayward trade.”

Gordon, 25, is not an All-Star level player, but he could make a big impact for the Celtics. Averaging 14.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game on 44.2% shooting, he’s a solid scorer and very capable defender.
With size and athleticism, Gordon will make an ideal fit in a roster in desperate need of frontcourt talent.
It will be interesting to see if the Celtics can close the deal.
