NBA Rumors: Raptors Will Not Trade Kyle Lowry This Season

For weeks, Kyle Lowry has been the subject of trade rumors online, thanks to the current state of the Toronto Raptors.

And while nothing is impossible in the NBA right now, it doesn’t seem as though we should expect Lowry to be moved any time soon. Contrary to earlier belief, the Raptors will be holding on to their prized point guard this season.

“…according to sources, teams inquiring into Lowry’s availability have been told that the Raptors do not intend to move him. You can never say never in the NBA, but as of now it seems likely that the six-time all-star – and arguably the greatest player in the franchise’s history – will finish the season with Toronto.”

Without Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors have been unable to maintain their status as title contenders. Thus, their inevitable downfall has begun, prompting rumors that the team may look to jump-start a rebuild by trading their vets for draft picks and young players.

Lowry, a 6x All-Star, is a premier shooter and valuable leader for the Raptors. And while his skills would have been valuable for another team as well, it looks like he’ll continue his tenure in Toronto for now — right where he belongs.
