Steve Nash On Nets Superteam After They Signed Blake Griffin And LaMarcus Aldridge: “I Don’t Know What We’re Supposed To Do: Stand Pat And Not Try To Improve?… That’s The Idea Of This League, Is To Try To Get Better.”

Steve Nash isn’t a fan of all the noise around the league with his Brooklyn Nets making big moves to create a superteam this season. They recently added Blake Griffin and LaMarcus Aldridge, something that didn’t sit well among fans but the 2x NBA MVP has a big question to those bothered by the Nets’ moves.

Nash knows that you have to take the most advantage you can in the association and that’s exactly what the team is doing right now. Having three big players like Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving, they added two veterans that can still be valuable in the league. That obviously bothered a lot of people and Nash responded to them, saying that the team’s front office didn’t do anything illegal.

“I don’t know what we’re supposed to do: Not try to add to our roster and just sit pat?” Nash said on Monday, via Sam Amick of The Athletic. “That’s the idea of this league is to try to put together the best team you can put together. And that doesn’t guarantee you anything.

“It’s not like we did anything illegal,” Nash added.

The rookie head coach took his time to joke with reporters, ’embracing’ his role as the new villain in the NBA. When asked if they were the antagonists this season, Steve just roared while people laughed.

They didn’t force anybody to join them and, curiously, a lot of people said they were going to do anything without playing defense and now they’re mad about the team and their recent moves. Blake Griffin also called out the fans for calling him ‘washed’ for a year until he signed with the Nets.

This is the NBA market and the Nets are in a very good position to attract free agents, which is exactly what happened. They’re second in the Eastern Conference with a 32-15 record and are seen as the biggest favorites to come out of the East this season. The expectations are huge and if they don’t live up, this team would a huge disappointment.
