Anthony Davis Was Worried He Tore His Achilles After February Injury

With Anthony Davis finally back in the lineup for the Lakers, their quest to repeat as Champions this season looks a little more solid, as they’ll need AD healthy and at the top of his game if they want any chance of advancing far in the postseason.

But we really don’t know the extend of what happened back in February, and how close it got to being way, way worse.

Apparently, according to Davis, he felt a ripping sensation during his last game in February and said he was initially concerned he had torn his Achilles.

Fortunately, it ended up just being a calf strain with Achilles tendinosis, meaning he’ll be his old self for the playoffs.

For both Davis and LeBron, the Lakers have exercised an abundance of caution, and it’s clear to see why. While no season-ending injury has occurred yet, this season seems to come with a heightened risk for players, who are having to play 72 games in a super-condensed schedule.

Nonetheless, Lakers fans can breathe a sigh of relief tonight, knowing their star is going to be just fine.
