Lakers Coach Frank Vogel Gives Bad News On Andre Drummond Injury Recovery: “He’s Just Not There Yet. He’s Still In A Great Deal Of Discomfort…”
With the Lakers in rather desperate need of some reinforcements, they brought in 2x All-Star Andre Drummond to bring size and depth to their depleted frontcourt.
And while Drummond showed flashes of what he could be in L.A., his debut was cut short by an unfortunate toe injury that could keep him out for longer than expected.
According to Lakers coach Frank Vogel, Dre is still in a great deal of discomfort, meaning he’ll miss more time as he continues to wait for healing.
“He’s still having trouble putting his shoe on the first two days through it,” Vogel told reporters via Zoom, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “He’s just not there yet. He’s still in a great deal of discomfort and we want to make sure that this thing gets behind him.”
Considering both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are out, they were looking to Drummond to help carry the load and keep the team afloat.
The good news is, he should still be back relatively quickly and can pick up where he left off. The bad news is, they might have to wait a couple more games first. The injury bug has really hit the Lakeshow hard this season, and it will be impressive if they can somehow overcome it all and make history as back-to-back Champions.
