The 2021 NBA season has been a pretty wild wide. In the aftermath of the COVID-19 bubble, the league picked up where they left off, with strict safety precautions and no fans in the arenas.

Still, players and teams found ways to dominate, resulting in one of the most exciting campaigns we've seen in some time.

With the playoffs set to start this weekend, the NBA award finalists have finally been revealed, and we now have a little hint as to who will be writing their name in the history books.

Here is the full list, per The Athletic:

Denver's Nikola Jokic, Philadelphia's Joel Embiid and Golden State's Stephen Curry were named finalists for 2020-21 NBA MVP on Thursday.

Rookie of the Year: LaMelo Ball, Charlotte; Anthony Edwards, Minnesota; Tyrese Haliburton, Sacramento

Sixth Man of the Year: Jordan Clarkson, Utah; Joe Ingles, Utah; Derrick Rose, New York Knicks

Defensive Player of the Year: Draymond Green, Golden State; Rudy Gobert, Utah; Ben Simmons, Philadelphia

Coach of the Year: Quin Snyder, Utah; Tom Thibodeau, New York Knicks; Monty Williams, Phoenix

Most Improved: Jerami Grant, Detroit; Michael Porter Jr., Denver; Julius Randle, New York Knicks

None of the names listed above are particularly surprising, especially the MVP candidates.

But some standouts could include Draymond Green for DPOY, Tyrese Haliburton for ROTY, and Michael Porter Jr. for most improved player.

We don't yet know when the league plans on announcing the winners of each award, but it's good to get an update on where things stand.
