As the Los Angeles Lakers aim to repeat as NBA Champions, Anthony Davis will have to step up on both ends of the floor.

After an injury-riddled season, AD hasn't quite been himself this postseason, and it seems his lethargic playoff start has the team struggling out of the gate.

Following Game 1, where he dropped 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game on 31% shooting, he made sure to put some responsibility on himself for the loss.

"No way we're winning a game, let alone a series, with me playing the way I played. This one is on me."

After hearing AD's admission, LeBron was all for it.

“It's never on just one guy, but I love when AD puts that pressure on himself."

With LeBron compromised, and the supporting cast producing inconsistent numbers, the Lakers are going to need more from AD if they want to win the title.

With teams like the Clippers, Nuggets, Blazers, and Suns ready to make a deep run, the Purple and Gold will need near perfection if they want to advance to the Finals, where they'll likely have to face Brooklyn, Milwaukee, or Philadelphia to win the Championship.

It won't be easy, and it will be near impossible without the best performance from Anthony Davis.

We'll see if he is able to step up.
