Thanks to an unbelievable season from Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors are in a position to make the Western Conference playoffs. If they win against the Grizzlies tonight, it will be all they need to lock up the 8th seed and secure a matchup against Utah.

But in an interesting twist, ESPN's Brian Windhorst proposed that it be better for the Dubs to actually miss the playoffs this year. This is what he said in a recent episode of The Jump:

“It might behoove them, especially considering they have the Minnesota Timberwolves’ draft pick this year if it’s outside the top three, that it might be best of them to miss the playoffs and get two lottery picks in this draft," Windhorst said.

Basically, missing out on the playoffs gets the Warriors an opportunity to snag an extra draft pick. Considering their current situation, that might not be a bad idea.

Then again, the chances of the 14th place Warriors getting a top 4 pick would be just 2.4%, not very good odds at all.

At the end of the day, a ticket to the playoffs might be worth more than a 2.4% chance at a lottery pick.

But, hey, it makes for a nice consultation prize if their season ends on Friday night.
