Kyle Kuzma: "Five Or Six Of Us Have Played In The Finals And The Playoffs Last Year, But The Makeup Of This Team Is Much Different.”
Just a season after winning the title, the Los Angeles Lakers find themselves struggling to keep their playoff status alive.
And while their struggles can be attributed to a number of different factors, young stud Kyle Kuzma gave his own take on why L.A. has been a little sluggish so far this year:
“We have new guys that haven’t really been in a situation like this before and we have to build our own story and journey out of this one. Obviously, you can relate a little bit. You have certain guys that have been on this roster. Five or six of us have played in the Finals and the playoffs last year, but the makeup of this team is much different.”
I think we’re still a working progress. I think we’ve made positive steps in the right direction. I think we’ve done a great job of integrating people and then getting people back in and getting them up to speed and still trying to gel everyone at the same time. I like it.”
Kuzma, 25, only has three years of experience under his belt, but he seems to have learned a lot from his title run a year ago.
The question is, can this team get their act together in time to save this season?
As their struggles continue, it will take a total and other-worldly effort from LeBron and Anthony Davis to get them back to the Finals.
But as long as those two stars wear the Purple and Gold, the franchise will always be relevant in the title chase.
