The Los Angeles Lakers have a roster that could be contending for a championship. However, if they aren't able to win it all this year, they could elect to make changes to the current core. Some of those changes could happen via trade.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report has recently shared a trade scenario for the Los Angeles Lakers. They would target Jerami Grant of the Detroit Pistons, who has shown himself to be an extremely versatile player.

Los Angeles Lakers Receive: Jerami Grant

Detroit Pistons Receive: Kyle Kuzma, 2021 first-round pick, 2023 second-round pick, 2024 second-round pick

It looks as though this proposal could be good for the Los Angeles Lakers. Jerami Grant was a candidate for the Most Improved Player award and has shown that he can be a fairly reliable scorer. This would also be a solid trade for the Detroit Pistons, as they would get some picks to help their rebuild. Here is what Swartz had to say about the proposal.

Grant is the perfect combination of scoring and defensive versatility that the Lakers roster could use. He can play power forward next to Anthony Davis in small-ball lineups or slide out to the wing when LeBron James runs the point.

Kuzma, a Flint, Michigan native, should thrive as the new starting power forward in Detroit. He's averaged 18.5 points per 36 minutes for his career and is shooting 36.1 percent from three this year.

Jerami Grant would give the Los Angeles Lakers a consistent third option behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and playing next to two superstars should allow him more space to operate. While obviously, no talks can happen until the playoffs are over and the offseason is here, this could be a good move if the Los Angeles Lakers want to increase their capabilities on both ends.
