Suns Coach Monty Williams Delivers Awesome Speech To His Team In Game 1: "This Is Our Freaking Moment..."
If you take a quick look at the playoff predictions by fans and media members, you'd be hard-pressed to find a bracket that has the Suns advancing past the first round.
Despite their amazing season, there isn't much faith that Phoenix can overcome the powers of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who are favored by many to win the whole thing and repeat as Champions.
So, amid major doubts by the masses, Suns coach Monty Williams made sure to light his guys up in Game 1 (which they won), delivering a speech that has since gone viral online.
“This is our freaking moment early in the playoffs. I’m not trying to get to July and say I wish we would’ve did whatever. It’s freaking right now. You guys are built for this.”
Williams, who was voted as the NBCA's Coach of the Year, has no doubt played a role in Phoenix's dramatic turnaround.
Just a few years ago, the squad was living in the Western Conference bunker, looking forward to the draft lottery instead of battling in the playoffs.
