Ben Simmons has been all over the news lately. First, it was because of his poor performances in the playoffs for the Philadelphia 76ers. Then, it was because of him dropping out of the Olympics to work on developing his skills this summer.

But now, the former first-overall pick has once again risen speculation regarding his future, as he's just bought a $17.5 million dollar mansion in Hidden Hills, California:

"This NBA playoffs season, Ben Simnons has plenty of reason to celebrate off the court. The Philadelphia 76er just picked up a stylish West Coast outpost, paying $17.5 million for this stunning modern farmhouse in guard-gated Hidden Hills. The all-new estate offers two swimming pools, three kitchens, and 12,000 square feet of living space," reported Dirt.

For years, Simmons' future with the Philadelphia 76ers has been questioned, either due to an odd fit on the court next to Joel Embiid, his lack of development, or his contract being a valuable trade asset for another superstar.

And now that both Embiid and Doc Rivers seemingly took shots at him following their loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Simmons' name has been thrown around in dozens of potential trade rumors.

Both the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers have been named as potential destinations for the Australian star, and let's not ignore the fact that he's also represented by Rich Paul's Klutch Sports, just like Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Draymond Green.

Then again, we shouldn't read too much into this. He's not in control of where he gets traded to - assuming he's indeed traded - and this could be just some real estate investment from the young millionaire.
