Coming off a torn ACL, Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie has yet to play an NBA game since Decmber.

Still, he remains an intriguing option in free agency this summer. And, according to Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News, the chances of him landing with a new organization are high.

Dinwiddie, however, is unlikely to return to the Nets after taking a below-market-value three-year deal worth $34 million. A source told The Daily News the combo guard wants to go home, or “wants the bag.”

So where is home for Dinwiddie? Los Angeles, meaning the Lakers or Clippers should be favored to land him.

Home for Dinwiddie is Los Angeles, where he spent the entire season rehabbing from his ACL tear at Phenom Sports Performance. If Dinwiddie were to join the Lakers or Clippers, it would have to be in a sign-and-trade. Even if Kawhi Leonard were to decline the player option on his contract and leave the Clippers in free agency, the team still would not have the cap space to sign Dinwiddie to a competitive contract.

Dinwiddie's last full season was in 2019-20 when he averaged 20.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game on 41% shooting.

As a solid, consistent two-way player, he'd be a great acquisition for either L.A. team. Expect there to be a major battle for his services this summer.
