The Atlanta Hawks have recently reached the Eastern Conference Finals, and are currently tied 1-1 against the Milwaukee Bucks ahead of Game 3 at home. A huge part of their success has been Trae Young and his spectacular offensive play that has lifted up the Atlanta Hawks to contender status for this year's championship.

Taylor Rooks has recently spoken out about how Trae Young is the perfect star for the Atlanta Hawks. The Atlanta Hawks notably traded Luka Doncic on draft night to acquire Trae Young. Their commitment to Young has paid off so far, as the Hawks have acquired their first Conference Finals win since the 1968-69 season, which was when they moved to Atlanta. The Hawks themselves haven't been in the Eastern Conference Finals since the 2014-15 season, and as Rooks mentions, Hawks fans haven't been in this position often.

Knicks fans were all in my ear in my series, smacked them. Sixers were like "yo there's no way, Embiid's back, we're gonna play you guys, we're gonna win..." no, no, no, and we came out on top. It's been really nice to continue to prove people wrong, so many young guys continuing to get it done.

I just feel like Trae Young is the exact star for Atlanta. He just fits in the mood, the fans love him. So it's really nice. I'm proud to be a Hawks fan, cause we haven't been in this position very often.

There's no doubt that Trae Young and the Hawks have smashed all expectations by getting to the Eastern Conference Finals. Trae Young will have a chance to take the lead in the series with Game 3 being hosted in Atlanta, and perhaps he will be able to do so.
