Giannis Antetokounmpo Refuses To Give Money To Watch Team USA: “If I Got To Pay Nevermind…”
Giannis Antetokounmpo is a very conservative man when it comes to money. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar tries to save as much money as possible, showing that side of him on Tuesday night.
The Greek Freak was curious to see where he could watch Team USA's second Olympic game against Iran, but he wasn't willing to give any money for the game. In case you don't know, you can watch the Tokyo 2020 Olympics on the Peacock streaming service. You either pay $5 per month or $50 per year, which is exactly what Giannis doesn't want to do.
He took to Twitter to ask where he could watch the match. Eric Nehm of The Athletic replied that he'll have to pay for that option, which instantly turned things off for the 26-year-old.
This was a good chance for The Athletic to remind Giannis that they had unfinished businesses. Last year, the 2x NBA MVP tried to get a deal for the newsletter-based service, paying $0.75 instead of $1 for the subscription.
Giannis is a character, but it seems like he's very selective with his savings. Last week, he bought 50 chicken nuggets to celebrate his NBA championship. However, watching teammates Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday in Tokyo isn't that important for the Greek player.
