Karl-Anthony Towns Reveals The Biggest Goal For His Career: "Winning Championships."
The goal for a lot of players in the league is to at some point win an NBA title. However, it's not as if achieving that goal is easy: only one team wins every year out of 30, and there are many things that can derail a team's championship hopes.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that last made the playoffs during the 2017-18 season, and that has been the only season they have been able to do so during superstar Karl-Anthony Towns' tenure on the team. Despite the fact that Karl-Anthony Towns is an elite talent, the team simply hasn't been able to put it together.
Karl-Anthony Towns has recently stated that the biggest goal for his career is to win some championships. Towns has had some elite individual numbers during his career, but in the past, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been unable to surround him with premier talent that would make them a championship-caliber squad. Winning championships. I've had the fortune of putting up some amazing stats, historical stats in games and seasons. But you're only remembered for the championships you truly win. I just gotta try to win some chips. That's what my legacy will be built on, how much I win.
While the Minnesota squads of the past have certainly not been able to get the job done, there's a lot to be excited about for next season. Former All-Star D'Angelo Russell is on the team, as is promising rookie Anthony Edwards. While Karl-Anthony Towns hasn't made the playoffs this season, perhaps he will be able to lead the team there next season as the main superstar on the roster.
