Kendrick Perkins Says Trae Young Should Have Made Team USA Roster

Team USA was already missing some pretty prominent players when the roster played its first exhibition game earlier this month.

But over the past few days, both Bradley Beal and Kevin Love have been disqualified and replaced with, objectively, less talented players.

The whole situation has sparked plenty of conversation, including about Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young.

After leading his team to the Eastern Conference Finals, he has (seemingly) been overlooked for the Team USA roster. Young has already expressed his feelings on the matter, but ESPN's Kendrick Perkins also had a quick note to say on the subject in an appearance on The Jump:

"I don't have a problem with this lineup, I just feel like Trae should have been on this team ... I'm not gonna dive any deeper into it, but that man should have been on there, have especially with what he did throughout the postseason."

This past season, the young point guard averaged 25.3 points, 9.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game on 43.8% shooting.

While we don't know for sure why he was excluded from the Team USA roster, he seems more than deserving of a spot.

At this point, all we can do is hope Young gets his chance next time when he's had some more opportunities to make a name for himself and prove the haters wrong.
