Kevin Durant Says 2017 Finals Is Better Than 2021 Finals

Despite featuring two small-market franchises, the 2021 NBA Finals have been highly rated by those who have watched so far.

In fact, according to many fans (and well-connected basketball trainer Cuffs The Legend), this Finals series is the best in years. It's a good and encouraging sign for the NBA.

Interestingly enough, however, Kevin Durant disagrees.

In a comment on Instagram, he picked the 2017 Finals as the better matchup.

For those who may have forgotten, the 2017 Finals featured a matchup between the Warriors and Cavaliers. It was Bron's second-to-last season in Cleveland, and just a few months before Kyrie Irving would be traded.

For the Warriors, it was the beginning of a true dynasty that would result in back-to-back Championships.

Considering how powerful the Warriors were back then (with Steph, Klay, Draymond, and Durant), it's no surprise the series stretched just 5 games, with most of them being total blowouts.

It doesn't sound particularly exciting to us, but it brought Kevin Durant his first Championship, so it makes a lot of sense that he calls it his favorite.

Needless to say, many disagree, and some even believe KD was just trolling with his comment.

But, all things considered, it's hard to knock Durant for his opinion, just as it's hard to knock those who are enjoying this current Finals most of all.
