Las Vegas Will Build Amazing $4B Arena To Try To Get An NBA Franchise
Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world, and they're not ready to let that title go just like that. They're adding more and more assets to attract people from the rest of the world, and now an NBA team could be next in their plans.
Last month, it was reported that Seattle and Las Vegas were considered the next cities to get an expansion team. The NBA has been working on this, and even though their plans are unclear right now, several cities are getting ready to make a bid, and Las Vegas is not an exception.
Via Total Pro Sports:
Former UNLV basketball star Jackie Robinson is planning to break ground on All Net Resort and Arena that will be $4 billion that will have 23,00 seats and have a retractable roof. It will also have 2 hotels and a theatre.
2,500-room hotel with no casino
3,000-seat theater
400,000 square feet of retail space
Movie theater
Grocery store
“Would we like to have an NBA team? Absolutely,” Robinson said to 8NewsNow. “But, would we be deterred if we don’t? No.”
“Now, it’s the proper time that we feel we can move forward with it and not just put something up at the wrong time and just try to satisfy everybody,” Robinson said.
If this comes to fruition, it'll be great for the city and the NBA. Just like Seattle, they've been rumored to be lined up to get an NBA franchise next. With this project, things get more likely for them. Still, time will tell if the league sees this with good eyes.
