Andre Drummond had a strange 2020-21 NBA season. Starting the year with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Drummond eventually parted ways with the franchise after the two sides agreed to a buyout. As a free agent, the former All-Star signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers to team up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The hope was that LeBron and AD could help elevate Drummond back to All-Star level numbers. But if not that, he could provide decent scoring as a big, and pull down the boards during late-game situations.

But things didn't go all that well for Drummond. He struggled to fit into the team, especially during the absences of LeBron James and Anthony Davis during their respective injury spells. And when the duo did return, they didn't have enough time to be able to develop chemistry with each other. The big concern for the Lakers was always going to be how Drummond and Anthony Davis fit on the court.

The two players have a similar build, frame, and dominate the paint. And during the Lakers' first-round Playoff series, Drummond struggled against the Phoenix Suns outside of one or two games. Based on his run with the Lakers, he isn't expected to come back and is willing to explore his options in free agency. But right now, Drummond is doing more than exploring options in free agency, trying to enter another burgeoning market.

Andre Drummond recently launched his own NFT collection. The NFT industry has blown up over the last year, as fans look to purchase the live digital art. Drummond has invested a lot of money into the project, including a $50,000 NFT piece. To incentivize fans to bid on the project, Drummond has offered the opportunity to design a shoe with him. At the moment, the bidding isn't performing very well, with the highest bid at the time of this writing going just shy of $500. But it could gain traction when fans see the potential prizes at hand.

Aside from the NFT venture, Drummond has to focus on his options in free agency. Drummond is looking for a big payday with whichever team he signs for. But given his struggles with the Lakers, he may have to settle for less.
