The Los Angeles Lakers had a rough season this year, dealing with a lot of injuries on their roster. Anthony Davis and LeBron James were clearly not at their best during the playoffs, and that was on display as the Phoenix Suns eliminated them in the first round.

As a result of these injuries, it seems as though some among the Los Angeles Lakers have concerns about how long the Anthony Davis and LeBron James duo's title window will last. Sam Amick of The Athletic has reported that after both superstars suffered injuries, there was worry among Lakers officials about the title window potentially being "even shorter than they'd originally hoped."

From Buss on down, the Lakers have a healthy appreciation for James’ basketball superpowers and are well aware they won’t last forever. The injuries to James and Davis last season were an unwelcome reminder of that much, leading some Lakers officials to worry that this window might be even shorter than they’d originally hoped. As such, they’re in the process of turning over all the proverbial stones in search of the right piece(s) to return to the NBA’s mountaintop. Their time is now, in other words — again.

It is clear that the Los Angeles Lakers are aware that LeBron James will not play at a superstar level forever, and it seems as though they're looking for a move to compete for a championship once again. It remains to be seen what sort of trade will happen, though a report suggested that the Lakers were close to landing Russell Westbrook. Westbrook would certainly be a good addition talent-wise, as he is a former MVP who can get a triple-double on any given night.

There is no question that the Los Angeles Lakers have to make some moves to put more talent around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. The title window won't be open for much longer, and perhaps we'll see an all-in trade from the Lakers this summer.
