Luka Doncic Says He's Taking A Lot Of Photos In The Olympics, But Novak Djokovic Is The Biggest Star
The Olympics give stars from all over the world get the chance of meeting their idols. It's a place where amateurs have the chance of playing against some of the best in the world, and that's just one of the many reasons why they're so special.
Olympic athletes want to meet the biggest names in the sports industry, up to the point where they act like just regular fans. That's why it's not surprising to see that Luka Doncic has been a wild sensation, with most athletes taking pictures with him:
“I like being a star of the Games; I feel good to be one of the stars if I am”, said Doncic, as quoted by Eurohoops. “I’m taking a lot of photos, yes, there could be more, although the one with the most photos is Djokovic”.
Novak Djokovic is perhaps the most renowned athlete taking part in the Olympics right now. He's pursuing his spot as the greatest tennis player of all time, and a gold medal in Tokyo could strengthen his case.
As for Doncic, he's already had one of the greatest performances in Olympics history with a 48-point explosion vs. Argentina:
“Argentina is a very good team, it was difficult because they played very well in defense. But we prepared well for them and we played an extremely good game. We were solid in defense, we played well in the attack. The first Olympic match is behind us, the big victory and the feelings are very special”, the Mavericks star said.
Doncic finished 7 points shy of Oscar Schmidt's record of 55 points in the Olympics but he was just happy to lead his team to a win:
“It is a very special day for Slovenia. I don’t care about the records, we wanted a victory and that’s what we came for," Doncic concluded.
It's clear that Luka Doncic is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of player, and adding an Olympic medal to his already impressive résumé will only continue to grow his legend.
