Going into this year, Chris Paul was one of the most accomplished point guards in the league. However, despite Paul's status as one of the best, he has never played in the Finals in the prior years of his career. That will change very soon, as the Phoenix Suns have made the Finals as a result of their series win against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Many have congratulated Chris Paul on his Finals appearance. One of those people has been Shaquille O'Neal, someone who knows a thing or two about getting to the highest stage. In a recent Inside The NBA appearance, Shaquille O'Neal commented on Chris Paul's performance in Game 6 and congratulated him for making the Finals for the first time in his career.

I'm really happy for Chris Paul. Last night was like a home game for him... I know he heard all the chatter...He came out and played, I'm so happy for him. 16 years first time in the Finals... Proud of him. Future Hall of Famer... Of course you still gotta win 4 more games to win the championship... The way he put his imprint in that 4th quarter he was like "You know what, even though I'm on the road, I'm at the crib, I played here 6 years, I know the rims, I know the building, get to my spot and do what I do."

There is no doubt that Chris Paul's 41 point explosion was a spectacular performance. It must surely feel good for a veteran like him to make the Finals for the first time, and it is amazing that he gets that opportunity before he retires. The Phoenix Suns have a real chance to win the 2020-21 NBA Championship, and perhaps they will do so under Chris Paul's leadership.
