Speculation Rises After LiAngelo Ball Seen In Workout With Hornets Players

LaMelo Ball made waves in his rookie season, averaging 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game on 43.6% shooting for the Hornets.

And while their season ended weeks ago, the team recently made headlines for a recent offseason workout video, which featured a surprise appearance by LiAngelo Ball.

LiAngelo is the middle child (and forgotten one) of LaVar Ball, who has become famous himself for his rather aggressive and unpredictable rhetoric.

While "Gelo" is a name a lot of NBA fans recognize, the young player hasn't found success landing an NBA gig so far. After being booted from UCLA, and then signing with a Lithuanian team, he briefly signed with the Detroit Pistons for training camp last year, eventually getting waived without even appearing in a preseason game.

Unfortunately for both LiAngelo and some hopeful Hornets fans, it is not likely that LiAngelo's presence in Charlotte is a hint he could sign with the team and join his brother. Rather, the more likely reasoning for his stay in North Carolina, is for a Drew League game, where LaVar’s team "Big Ballers" is expected to compete.

This offseason, with a number of players expected to be available (via free agency and trade), LiAngelo is probably not somebody the Hornets have on their radar right now.

Doesn't mean that can't be the case later, though...
