The Chicago Bulls were a dominant dynasty during the 1990s, and their run resulted in two three-peats and 6 championships. While the team was clearly led by Michael Jordan, there were other factors to their success, such as All-Star Scottie Pippen, and coach Phil Jackson.

Scottie Pippen has recently called his former coach Phil Jackson a racist, due to a situation where Jackson gave the last shot in the playoffs to Pippen's teammate, Toni Kukoc. Stephen A. Smith has recently blasted Scottie Pippen and suggested that attacking Jackson was "one of the most ridiculous things" that Pippen has ever done.

“I respect Scottie — six-time champion, all-time great player. I think this is one of the stupidest, most idiotic things he’s ever said or done...The game after that whole incident... I believe the Chicago Bulls had won the game. When that transpired Ahmad Rashad was interviewing Scottie Pippen on the court. Scottie Pippen said "I've apologized to the team. I've apologized to Phil Jackson, it was stupidity on my part."

Twenty-seven years later, Phil Jackson’s a racist? The same Phil Jackson that coached you, that coached MJ? That coached guys like Bill Cartwright and B.J. Armstrong, and others, and Stacey King and all these guys? The same Phil Jackson that coached Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant?”

There is no doubt that Scottie Pippen's comments were a talking point across the NBA community. A lot of people pushed back against Pippen, though fans did find some alarming comments from Phil Jackson that supported Pippen's claim. This situation is definitely difficult, and thus far, there has been no response from Jackson on Pippen's words.
