The Houston Rockets may have lost James Harden this season due to his trade request, but they have gotten a solid return of picks for him for their rebuild. While they were one of the worst teams in the win-column after Harden's departure, there are some positives to their season. They managed to unearth some young talent such as Kevin Porter Jr. and Christian Wood, and they were awarded the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. That is certainly a great foundation to build on.

The Detroit Pistons may have made the obvious choice at No. 1, but this draft has many amazing talents. The Houston Rockets have officially selected Jalen Green in the 2021 NBA Draft. Jalen Green could develop into a future star and with the current young core they have, the Houston Rockets are a promising team if all goes right.

Jalen Green spent last season with the G-League Ignite, averaging 17.9 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 2.8 APG. It is clear from his time there that he will likely translate to being a great scorer in the NBA. Green's shot creation is at a high level, and he can definitely get his own baskets 1 on 1. Three-level scorers are valuable in the NBA, and Green's could potentially become a high-level one with time.

It remains to be seen if the Houston Rockets make it back to the playoffs with this acquisition, but it will likely be a step in the right direction. The team has a bright future with lots of young prospects and picks at their disposal. The management has shown the ability to dig up underrated talent as well. If everything goes to plan, we could see the Houston Rockets compete soon in the future.
