NBA Hall-of-Famer Chris Bosh achieved great success with the Miami Heat, capturing 2 titles in 4 straight trips to the Finals.

Nowadays, the Heat are relevant once again, with a roster that includes Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Kyle Lowry.

But after a rather disappointing run in the 2021 playoffs (in which they got bounced in Round 1), there is some doubt that the Heat are ready to compete for a title.

But in a chat with Anthony Chiang of Miami Herald, Bosh explained why their loss might have actually made them better.

“Sometimes lumps are good. We are not immune to a [butt] whooping, to be quite frank. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It was a crazy season. It’s good to see the difference when you have that ‘X’ on your back,” Bosh said. “I think everybody understood that this year because, yeah, people are going to come when they’re playing the Heat. It was already kind of like that. But for them to catch people slipping and have a few knockouts last year getting to the Finals, when people see that you get a little more focus from your opponents.

I think it’s good to have that sort of disappointment sometimes because it’s good to know that you have to get better. With that said, Victor [Oladipo] being out, I’m sure that kind of took the wind out of their sail a little bit.”

Every team has experienced heartbreak, including Bosh's Heat. They lost during their first year together in a brutal defeat against the Mavericks in the Finals.

And while the modern-day team is not nearly as strong, they certainly have enough talent to make some waves in the East. After a humiliating loss and some quality additions to the roster, they will be a team to fear this upcoming season.

The Miami Heat should focus on making the Eastern Conference Finals because other than the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks, they have the most talent on the roster. The Nets will be a force with their Big Three healthy again and will be the favorites for the NBA championship. Similarly, Milwaukee will be back and Giannis Antetokounmpo has had an early taste of championship glory.

We will see soon enough just what this team is capable of.
