Isaiah Thomas Wants To Be Back In The NBA: "That's The Only Goal... To Be On An NBA Roster. I Know I Got The Talent To Do It."
Isaiah Thomas is a former All-Star who last played for the New Orleans Pelicans. In his prime, he was known for his insane scoring exploits, and during the 2016-17 season, he averaged 28.9 PPG and made the All-NBA team. While he is no longer that MVP-caliber offensive force, he can certainly help a team out if he is fully healthy.
In a recent interview with Malika Andrews, Isaiah Thomas revealed that his only goal is to get back on an NBA roster. Thomas has markedly performed very well in a recent Pro-Am, dropping 81 points and channeling his inner Kobe Bryant. There's no doubt that Isaiah Thomas is putting in plenty of work to get back into the league.
That's the only goal... is to be in the NBA, to be on a roster. I know I got the talent to do it. I'm finally healthy. I'm just waiting on the opportunity. And I know at some point when it does come, I'm gonna take full advantage of it, and I'm gonna do it with a smile on my face.
I've worked out with some teams... Teams have seen me move. They just seen me be who I am. That's what the biggest thing for me is, to get it out there so people can see that I'm healthy. So people can see I have no restraints, I have no restrictions. I'm 100% ready to go. I've been working out with guys, I've been ready. I'm just waiting on the opportunity, I'm waiting on the right opportunity for me to showcase my skills, and be able to have an opporuntity to play at the highest level, and show that I can compete at a very high level.
There's no doubt that Isaiah Thomas deserves another chance in the league, and he could certainly be a great bench scorer for most teams. Hopefully, he gets his opportunity and shows that he can still play at a high level.
