It's not a secret that NBA players are constantly talking to each other and trying to team up. Those tampering rules are way out of date and there's no way to determine whether a player is reaching out to a friend or recruiting him.

Over the past couple of months, the rumor of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry teaming up again in free agency has grown stronger.

And, with Lowry liking a tweet that states that they should get back together, those rumors skyrocketed again.

Nonetheless, it's worth noting that the Miami Heat have virtually no cap space to land DeMar DeRozan at market value:

"The Miami Heat have reportedly signed Kyle Lowry for his desired $90 million for 3 years. Hence, this leaves almost no room for a DeMar DeRozan trade. The best they can do is offer him a mid-level exception, which would be around $10 million a year. However, that is an enormous drop from $27 million," reported Essentially Sports.

DeRozan recently stated that he's been fortunate to make plenty of money throughout his career and that his biggest priority right now is winning an NBA Championship, so there's a chance that he's willing to take a big pay cut to play for a contender, especially if that's next to his best friend.

Lowry and DeRozan shared the court for 6 years with the Toronto Raptors before DeRozan was sent to the San Antonio Spurs in the Kawhi Leonard trade.

DeRozan has yet to win an NBA Championship, while Lowry was crowned with the Raptors in 2019. Now, he'd be delighted to watch his best buddy get a ring of his own at South Beach.

Then again, the Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs are also interested in DeRozan's services, so we'll have to wait and see how this pans out.
