Mike Conley Agrees To A 3-Year, $68 Million Deal To Return To Utah Jazz
Just a couple of minutes into free agency, Shams Charania of The Athletic announced that veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr has agreed to a three-year, $68 million contract to return to the Utah Jazz:
"Free agent Mike Conley Jr. has agreed to a three-year, $68 million deal to return to the Utah Jazz, sources tell The Athletic and Stadium," tweeted Shams.
Conley wasn't at his best during his first season in Utah but played a key role in his second season next to Donovan Mitchell, and his injury in the playoffs took a massive toll on their chances
Throughout the season, the former Memphis Grizzlies star averaged 16.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 2.2 three-pointers per game on 44/41/85 shooting splits and played outstanding defense for the team with the best record in the NBA, so it's not surprising to see him get paid that much even despite his age.
Now, the Utah Jazz will look to continue strengthening their roster after letting Derrick Favors go on draft night, with some people speculating that they could part ways with Joe Ingles.
