NBA Rumors: Ben Simmons Reportedly 'Cut Off' Communications With 76ers

A couple of weeks ago, it seemed like it was just a matter of time before the Philadelphia 76ers moved on from Ben Simmons. Nonetheless, Daryl Morey set a massive asking price for him and no one has been willing to meet it thus far.

There was a lot of speculation regarding Simmons' future during the Draft night, with multiple teams reportedly keeping tabs on his situation. At the end, the former first-overall pick stood put.

But now, a recent report states that the Sixers are re-engaging in talks to trade Ben Simmons away, stating that they're 'extremely motivated' to get a deal done with the Golden State Warriors:

"Warriors and 76ers have re-engaged on a Ben Simmons deal sources tell @BallySports. Philly is extremely motivated to get this deal done," reported Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson.

The Warriors were one of the teams tied to Simmons over the past couple of weeks. He's also represented by Klutch Sports like Draymond Green and he'd be an intriguing fit for Steve Kerr's offense.

But then again, getting Simmons to the Bay might be trickiest than what the Warriors would want. They'd have to part ways with Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, some picks, and Moses Moody.

While Simmons is a young player with huge upside and a long-term contract, the Warriors seem committed to their core as it is.

Adding Ben Simmons to their roster would be a massive upgrade for them. They could even slide him at center and have three top-notch playmakers in him, Draymond Green, and Stephen Curry.

They have enough shooters to put around him and neutralize his offensive flaws. And he's got the ability to guard one through five, which comes in handily for Kerr's system.

The player has reportedly cut off communications with the Sixers. His agent, Rich Paul, is now speaking with the team. Simmons wants to join the Warriors, although that seems to be a long shot right now.

Also, the fact that they opened up a roster spot by trading away Eric Paschall to the Utah Jazz makes us think that they might be up to something here.
