The Brooklyn Nets keep upgrading their roster, signing solid veterans to contribute to their championship aspirations next year. After re-signing Kevin Durant to a massive new deal and getting Blake Griffin back, the Nets have picked up Paul Millsap.

The veteran big man joins the Eastern Conference powerhouse expected to compete for the championship next season. This fact reportedly played a significant role in his decision to go to Brooklyn.

According to Shams Charania, the power forward favored the Nets over other competitive teams like the Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Clippers, thanks to their favoritism ahead of the 2021/22 NBA season.

This addition will bring a lot of benefits to the Nets. Millsap is past his prime, but he can still contribute on defense, something the Nets lacked last season.

Brooklyn is assembling a terrific team ahead of the new season. If their Big 3 stays healthy during the entire season and the new pieces they added mesh well, Steve Nash's team can have an easy walk to the championship.
