12-year NBA veteran Nick Young only donned the Purple and Gold for 4 years of his career, and it was a very hard time for the franchise. With Kobe Bryant past his prime, the team was a shell of itself, using their draft picks to develop and grow their young talent with little hope of contention.

Young has long since moved on from the Lakers and hasn't actually played a game since 2019.

The Lakers, though, have turned things around in a pretty dramatic way. After signing LeBron James, they traded for Anthony Davis the following summer, creating a dynamic duo that has put them back in elite company.

And now, as the 2021-22 season approaches, Nick Young says his former team is poised to win it all for the second time in three years.

Lakers winning it all if healthy they might be to big for the Nets “pause”

If you're the Lakers, there is a lot to be excited about for this upcoming season. LeBron, Anthony Davis, and a slew of new acquisitions (that includes Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, and more) create one of the best rosters in the league. They also have an experienced coach in Frank Vogel who has already proven himself as the right guy to lead this team from the sidelines.

Still, there are plenty who doubt. Whether it's their age or some other factor/flaw, not everyone is as convinced as Young that the Lakers can pull it off and bring home another title. In the comments, many fans made it known that they disagree with Swaggy P's prediction.

Obviously, the Lakers' biggest competition will be out East, where the Nets have built their own superteam. With Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Blake Griffin, they can really make some noise if they are able to stay healthy for the duration of the season. Scoring-wise, they might be the absolute best the basketball world has ever seen.

Either way, only time will tell how this all plays out. At this point, the Championship is anyone's to win and the Lakers still have a lot of work to do before they can bring it home.
