Zion Williamson Underwent Surgery This Offseason, Will Be Ready To Start The 2021/22 Campaign

Zion Williamson had surgery in a fractured right foot this offseason, continuing his injury streak. 

Williamson's health has been an issue for the New Orleans Pelicans since the forward entered the league a couple of seasons ago. He's still considered one of the future faces of the league, but his injuries and fitness are a big question mark for the organization.

Moreover, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that the player underwent surgery this offseason but should be back before the start of the 2021/22 NBA regular season.

Recently, we learned that the young star never liked how they handled his injuries during his rookie season, which created problems that last to this day. Hopefully, things can be different this time. 

Zion is expected to lead this team to the playoff in the future. Yet, suppose the relationship keeps getting worse. In that case, we might see him go like Anthony Davis did two years ago, leaving the Pelicans without one of the future best players in the association. 

This upcoming season will be important for the player and his squad. The Western Conference should be easier given all the offseason moves, but if they fail to make it to at least the play-in tournament, David Griffin and co. should worry about the future of their star.
