LeBron James Says He's Still Trying To Catch Up To Michael Jordan's Six Titles

LeBron James and Michael Jordan are constantly pitted against each other since they're always part of the never-ending GOAT debate. The King and His Airness have had terrific careers, and fans often make a case for each of them.

Even though MJ has stated he can't call himself the GOAT, LeBron hasn't hidden his desire to become the best player of all time. He's working to accomplish that, even after 19 years in the league. 

Bron is entering a challenging season with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he'll try to prove doubters wrong following a disappointing campaign for the purple and gold. The 4x NBA champion aims to keep adding more championships to his resume and tie Jordan's six titles. 

ESPN's Dave McMenamin writes that James still desires to win Larry O'Brien trophies to tie and surpass his idol. 

James already replaced Michael Jordan as the premier postseason scorer back in 2017 and told ESPN at the start of training camp that adding to his four championships in hopes of getting closer to Jordan's six remains a deep passion.

"I still have a burning desire inside of me to want to continue to win and hold Larry O'Brien's Trophy at the end of the season," James said.

A couple of years ago, The King claimed he was chasing a ghost in Chicago and he hasn't finished the job just yet. Even though he's not getting any younger, Bron really takes care of his body, which allows him to compete at the highest level even when he's two months away from turning 37. 

Shaquille O'Neal recently stated that if Bron becomes the all-time scoring leader, he would be the GOAT regardless of his adds another championship to his career. Still, Bron seems to want it all and he's playing to break more records and add more silverware to his collection. 

This season will be challenging for the Lakers. A lot of teams made moves to improve their level. The purple and gold created a Big 3 with Russell Westbrook, but not everybody believes that's enough to win the championship. Well, LeBron is still relevant and one of the best players in the league. 

Even if things look complicated for the Lakers, never sleep on a team that has LeBron James.
