After years of subpar play, the Minnesota Timberwolves might finally be getting their act together. For the first time since they came together, both Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell are healthy, and they are showing just how good they can be when at their best.

Minnesotans have a lot to be proud of.

Unfortunately, their team might not be around for too much longer.

In a chat with Sopan Deb of The New York Times, former Wolves superstar Kevin Garnett said that the Wolves' new owners could be moving the team to Seattle sometime in the near future.

I actually think I’ve been hearing whispers that A-Rod is actually going to take the Timberwolves to Seattle. So we’ll see. I don’t know.

No one wants to see the Wolves leave Minneapolis, but you know, it’s business. I would never want the Timberwolves to leave Minneapolis and Minnesota. I think that team means a lot to that state.

At the moment, there are no other clues that the Timberwolves will be leaving Minnesota, but there have been rumblings about the NBA making a return to Seattle before. Over the years, many around the association have called for the Sonics to be resurrected.

Even Kevin Garnett once revealed that he liked the idea.

“If I have a dream, I would say that I would love to be able to go and buy the Seattle Supersonics and reactivate the Pacific Northwest. Seattle was huge to our league. I would love to be able to do that. That’s what’s up. If there’s one thing I could do tomorrow, it would be that," Garnett claimed during an interview.

At this point, nobody knows what will happen. Will the Sonics come back? Will it be at the Timberwolves' expense?

Whatever the case, it will be interesting to see what these new Minnesota owners (Alex Rodriguez, specifically) have planned.

Rodriguez and Lore struck a $1.5 billion deal to buy the team earlier this year.
