PJ Tucker Lauds The Miami Heat's Defense: "I Can Be On KD Then Bam Will Switch And I'm Like Cool, Then Jimmy Will Switch And I'm Like Cool, Then Kyle Will Switch And I'm Like Cool. We Can Yell At Each Other Then Go Out There And Play And Be Good."
PJ Tucker was a terrific addition to the Miami Heat. The big man has been one of the best defenders in the league for the past decade, going against big rivals including Kevin Durant and LeBron James.
Now that he's on another team with championship aspirations, people look at him as the piece the Miami Heat needed to emulate what they did in 2020 and actually improve their participation in the infamous Orlando bubble.
Following a season where he won the championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, Tucker aims to do the same with the Heat, a team with a lot of hard fighters that can make life difficult for rivals both on offense and defense.
After the Heat beat the struggling championship Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night, Tucker praised his teammates' intensity on defense, which took them to promised land against a dangerous rival. When the match was over, PJ explained how easy it's to play with this Heat team.
"I can be on KD then Bam will switch and I'm like cool, then Jimmy will switch and I'm like cool, then Kyle will switch and I'm like cool," he said, via Brady Hawk of 5 Reasons Sports.
"We can yell at each other then go out there and play and be good."
The Heat assembled a team with tough players ready to go at it with anybody. To name a few, Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry are players who don't back down and the Heat will benefit a lot from that.
Having veteran Udonis Haslem on the bench also helps them. Haslem is always keeping everybody on the same page, maintaining the Heat culture. The new guys (Tucker and Lowry) have adapted perfectly to that, leading this team to the 3rd position in the Eastern Conference.
Even after recording 0 points, 0 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, and 1 rebound, fans know Tucker did a terrific job and his impact on the game rarely is visible on the stat sheets.
The Heat first beat the defending champions and now one of the favorites to dethrone the Milwaukee Bucks. They can make a lot of noise this season and surprise everybody when people think they are a second-tier contender.
