Former All-Star Deron Williams To Fight On The Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury Undercard In December

Former NBA All-Star point guard Deron Williams is transitioning from basketball to boxing, according to recent reports. The former player has been out of the league for some time now, and it's looking for new adventures in his life. 

Not so long ago, fellow former NBA point guard Nate Robinson made his debut in the ring, gettin KO'd by Jake Paul in incredible fashion. It seems like retired athletes really like boxing, as former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson also got in the ring and showed his skills a couple of months ago. 

Now, it's Deron Williams' turn, as The Athletic's Shams Charania recently reported. Next month, Jake Paul will face Tommy Fury and the former Utah Jazz, Brooklyn Nets player is set to take part in the same card. 

NBA-Boxing world crossover, per sources: Former All-Star and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Deron Williams will fight on the Jake Paul/Tommy Fury undercard bout on Dec. 18. Frank Gore — third on the NFL’s all-time rushing yards list — is a potential opponent for Williams.

As stated before, this has been common for former athletes. Even MMA fighters have put on boxing gloves to prove themselves. More details about the match will see the light soon, but this is another fight that will get plenty of attention from NBA fans worldwide. 

During his career, Williams averaged 16.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 8.1 assists in 845 games. At his peak, he was one of the best PGs in the league, becoming a 3x NBA All-Star and 2x All-NBA. His decline was as curious as fast, and there was nothing he could do to get close to his best shape. 

Now it's time to try new things and this is an excellent opportunity for him. Even if he loses, he'll get a lot of respect for stepping on the canvas.
