Brooklyn Nets' rookie Cam Thomas didn't hold anything when he talked about playing with Kevin Durant. In fact, the 20-year-old claimed he constantly beats the 2x NBA champion one-on-one, going further and saying KD doesn't want to play with him anymore.

Thomas is boasting huge confidence with those claims, but Durant wasn't going to let that slip. The 2014 NBA MVP responded to his teammate's claims, telling reporters the actual score of their pickup game, and saying he let the youngster score because he felt bad.

“He was lying for sure. I definitely beat him 13-to-5. And those five shots that he made I turned my back and was like ‘go ahead. He was a little 4-for-7 (tonight) so you know he was feeling himself. Y’all were excited to talk to him. I’m sure his boys were hitting him up on Twitter and sending him texts so he was feeling himself so he was going to come in here and fabricate."

After trolling Thomas, Durant praised him and explained the importance of the young player for the team. Cam isn't dropping 46 as he did in the G League but can bring that spark to the squad when they feel low. That's a big factor for them and Durant acknowledged that.

"He gave us the boost we needed as somebody that can score, dribble off the catch like that. A young team like this, they are going to send all of their resources at James and myself so they are playing super physical and super tight to me. They are going to bring over some help so guys are open and they left him open. I guess he wasn’t on the scouting report but they left him open and he made plays."

The Brooklyn Nets found a gem in this guy. He's still young and has a lot to improve, but Thomas is on the right path to becoming a solid player in the league. If he starts going after one of the greatest scorers of all time at such a young age, imagine what he'll do when he reaches his peak.
