The Lakers in the offseason were expected to make some big moves. Given that they couldn't even make it to the playoffs last season despite adding a superstar like Russell Westbrook, many expected a major trade from the Lakers.

But unfortunately for the Laker faithful, no such trade has taken place till now. In the offseason, though, the front office has made a massive overhaul of the supporting cast surrounding the big three of Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis.

After a season where they were overly reliant on aging veterans to support the likes of Bron and AD, the Lakers front office has added younger players to their roster. Signing players like Lonnie Walker IV, Troy Brown Jr., and Damian Jones, the Purple, and Gold, are clearly planning to have a much younger supporting cast for the upcoming season.

The Lakers surprisingly were able to sign a player from the defending NBA champions in the free agency as Mexican Juan Toscano-Anderson joined the side. While he played limited minutes for the Warriors, JTA brought a big jolt of energy whenever he was on the court.

After signing for the Lakers, it seems like the team's faithful are feeling well about their team adding the forward. Recently, the Laker faithful welcomed the Mexican hooper with an incredible mural.

While JTA might not become a big contributor in terms of pure numbers for the Lakers next season, he will give the Purple and Gold's bench a much-needed dynamism and energy.

Last season with veterans leading the way in the second unit, the Lakers struggled massively. This season, though, with their new crop of young players, the 2020 NBA champions will hope that things will be different. The Lakers who recently extended LeBron James' contract, are clearly in a win-now situation. Will their new additions in the offseason be enough for the Lakers to compete though remains to be seen.
