Jaylen Brown Could Join Philadelphia 76ers As Free Agent In 2024: "The Celtics Can Offer Him More Money Overall Than Anyone Else, But If He Wants To Join A Different Team, He Will Have Complete Freedom To Do So.”

Jaylen Brown is currently on the Boston Celtics, but he could try a different challenge once his contract is up. According to a Celtics insider, the Sixers could be his next team.

The Philadelphia 76ers have managed to land incredible players in recent seasons. The team has boasted the likes of Jimmy Butler and Ben Simmons in recent seasons, and now has a solid 1-2 punch duo in Joel Embiid and James Harden, added to a young guard like Tyrese Maxey and veteran presence like PJ Tucker, Tobias Harris and more.

Somehow, the Sixers have been linked with other big names around the league like LeBron James in 2018, Kevin Durant a couple of months ago and more high-profile players that were reportedly close to joining this team.

Well, it seems like that won't change in the future, as the Sixers have been deemed a potential landing spot for one of the most exciting young players in the NBA right now. They look poised to make the NBA Finals next year, but if that doesn't happen, they'll be ready to bounce back with a huge addition in 2024.

Jaylen Brown Could Join Sixers In 2024 Free Agency, Per Insider

Celtics insider Jack Simone and NBA cap expert Keith Smith recently talked about the Celtics' upcoming extensions and what could happen to the franchise if certain players decide to look for a new challenge in the league. Among those players, we can find Jaylen Brown.

He's set to become a UFA in 2024, and some have started to speculate about a potential exit from the team. While outlining the teams that could make a move for the wing, Simone mentioned the Dallas Mavericks, but also the Philadelphia 76ers, who would benefit greatly from this trade.

The Dallas Mavericks should be in a constant search for a co-star to pair alongside Luka Doncic, and if they dump a contract or two by 2024, they could make space for Brown. Not only would Brown be able to take some of the scoring load off of Doncic, but he’d likely also slot in as the team’s best perimeter defender.

Similar statements can be made for teams like the Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, and Philadelphia 76ers, who could all be looking for fresh faces to pair with their respective stars by 2024. Ja Morant, Cade Cunningham, and Joel Embiid would all assumedly jump at the chance to play with Brown.

Again, though, this reasoning would bank on the idea that Brown is sick of Boston, and from everything we’ve seen, that doesn’t seem to be the case at the moment.

Right now, even after all the off-season drama regarding a potential trade for Kevin Durant, it would be crazy to see Jaylen leaving Boston. Still, a lot can happen in two years, and perhaps he'll try to find a new challenge in the association. If that happens, it's clear he won't miss suitors, and a partnership with James Harden and Joel Embiid would be madness for the Sixers.
