Speaking of the Eastern Conference, the Brooklyn Nets are currently one of the best teams in the league. The dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving has done a phenomenal job of leading the team. They have won most of their games in the past few weeks and were in scorching hot form until facing off against the Boston Celtics.

The Brooklyn Nets were easily defeated by the Boston Celtics. And in the defeat most of the blame was put on Ben Simmons, who had a scoreless game. This snapped the Nets' winning streak and they now have a record of 27-14, but it is still enough for the team to hold the second seed in the East.

However, the bigger concern for the Nets is the absence of Kevin Durant due to injury. KD injured his knee against the Miami Heat and is reportedly all set to miss at least one month.

Kyrie Irving Issues A Stern Message To His Teammates

With Kevin Durant sidelined, the burden of leading the Nets has fallen on the shoulders of Kyrie Irving. In the matchup against the Celtics, Kyrie had a good individual game, but it wasn't enough to lead the team to victory.

Following the defeat, Irving had a strong message for his teammates regarding how they can continue playing at a good level until Durant returns to the roster.

“I think I took from it is just not to be discouraged. When losses like this happen, just get even hungrier. Go in the gym, continue to prepare. Continue to do the things that have got us to this point. Live with the results. We’ll just putting our work in front of us and not really pay attention to anything but ourselves and how we could collectively get better.”

With Durant expected to miss at least a month of action, a motivating message like this from Irving should help the rest of the team in pushing to win games. Hopefully, Kai's message gets through to his teammates and they can bounce back in the next game.
