Rui Hachimura entered the NBA expected to make some noise, but after three seasons in the association, the Japanese player has failed to showcase his talents and provide a serious contribution to the Washington Wizards.

After being compared to Kawhi Leonard in the same draft that saw players like Zion Williamson or Ja Morant make it to the league, Hachimura has dealt with some off-court issues that forced him to remain out of action for a while. Now that he's back and ready to make an impact, the Wizards aren't giving him the time he needs to develop.

Amid the trade talks surrounding him, Hachimura is seemingly getting mad at his team, and recently sent a short but clear message to them. Rui knows what he brings to the table and he's willing to take that to any other team that wants his services.

Rui Hachimura Had Some Things To Get Off His Chest About Wizards

During a recent convo with Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Rui opened up on the possibility of him requesting a trade, denying to comment on that. This, instead of shutting that possibility down, sparked more speculation.

When The Athletic asked Hachimura during a news conference in a Capital One Arena hallway whether he asked the Wizards for a trade, Hachimura responded: “No comment.”

He then called out his team for putting him in a situation where he doesn't know if they want him or not. His future appears to be up in the air and Hachimura isn't against the idea of leaving D.C. to try his luck somewhere else.

“I just want to be somewhere that wants me as a basketball player, and I want to be somewhere that likes my game, you know?” Hachimura said Saturday night. Later, he added, “I just want to be somewhere that trusts (and) believes in me and just (where) I can be myself. That’s my goal.”

Asked by a reporter if he feels like that place is Washington, Hachimura responded, “I don’t know. We’ve got to find out.”

This situation could end up really bad for the Wizards, as they could see not only Hachimura but other players leave soon. Kyle Kuzma is another star that could seek new opportunities in the league, which would put them in a bad position for the future. The front office needs to make the right moves if they want to keep hopes of being competitive in the future, but that seems unlikely right now.
