The Golden State Warriors are currently going through a complex situation, as their multiple-team trade could fall apart after the team found out some concerning facts about Gary Payton II and his injury.

The former Warriors player was dealt to the Dubs ahead of the 2023 trade deadline, as the Portland Blazers received five second-round picks in exchange for the defensive specialist. This was a terrific reunion in the eyes of many, but things took a wrong turn when the Dubs discovered that Payton wasn't completely healthy.

This discovery has put the entire trade in jeopardy, and everybody is wondering what's next for the Warriors. The league could take away draft picks from the Blazers if they find that the team purposely hid this information from the Dubs.

Golden State Warriors Working With NBA To Finalize Gary Payton II Trade

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that the Dubs have made a final decision on this situation, discussing with the league a way to complete the four-team trade that was almost completed until the GP2's news saw the light.

The Golden State Warriors are discussing with the NBA a way to complete their four-team trade with Portland, Detroit and Atlanta, and still preserve their rights to pursue recourse on how the Trail Blazers shared guard Gary Payton II's medical information with them prior to the agreement, sources told ESPN on Sunday.

This is a big issue for the Warriors and the league, and they hope that everything goes well for them so the players and teams involved in this deal can continue the process of completing the trade.

The Warriors are in a complex position right now, as they rank 9th in the Western Conference, struggling to get things going. The Dubs traded James Wiseman away in this deal, and if they decided to call it off, both Wiseman and Payton will stay on their respective teams, pretty much ending each other's chances to improve their situations this season.

After winning the 2022 NBA championship, Payton was a very sought-after player, and now he wants to return to the team that gave him everything, although his future is up in the air right now.
